The Find Your Midlife Magic event returns this October with TV presenter Louise Minchin attending.
Louise will be part of the celebrity lineup at the Find Your Midlife Magic event, which takes place on October 1st at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate.
The annual event, which launched last year, is aimed at focussing on the unique challenges facing midlife women.
The face of breakfast TV for 20 years before leaving in 2021, Louise will talk in conversation about changing her career path in midlife and how she is carving out a new life as an author, freelance presenter and campaigner – as well as regularly taking on gruelling endurance challenges.
She’ll be joined by the flamboyant celebrity hairdresser and presenter of Channel Four’s Ten Years Younger, Andrew Barton. Other guests include writer and podcaster Siobhan Daniels, aka “Retirement Rebel” a retired radio and TV producer who sold her possessions to hit the road in a motorhome, as well as the doctor, author and TV medic Dr Jane Gilbert, who will answer questions on health challenges in midlife.
Yorkshire TV presenter Christine Talbot, a regular supporter of Yorkshire Ladies Links, will host the event.
The event is the brainchild of four Yorkshire women in the public eye who want to create a unique and safe platform for women, aged 45 and beyond. It is aimed at offering support and information in a fun, inspiring atmosphere, dealing with the myriad of issues related to the so called “middle years.”
Up to 200 women are expected to attend the day which builds on last year’s launch event featuring the Yorkshire actor Gaynor Faye.
Model and fashion event organiser Bernadette Gledhill, body image guru and model Rachel Peru, TV personality/model Annie Stirk and Christine have all faced their own midlife challenges and are looking forward to building on the success of last year’s event.

The organisers and their guests will address issues ranging from mental and physical health to image challenges. There will be beauty and fashion advice, and discussions around the problems related to caring responsibilities, as well as grief and ageing.
The day will also be packed with thought provoking panel discussions and lots of tips on how to be the very best you can be in the midlife years.
Twice British hairdresser of the Year winner, Rob Eaton will be on hand to help style the winners of a fabulous “Stuck In A Rut” makeover competition who will be given a brand new look courtesy of Rob, Andrew and a team of expert make-up artists from Harvey Nichols, Leeds.
The winners will also be dressed in and receive outfits from the Yorkshire based clothing company Joe Browns who will be supporting the event.
Annie Stirk: “We realised how much there is a need to address the unique challenges facing women in midlife and beyond. Women in our age group are struggling with a myriad of issues, unresolved needs and desires, a drop in confidence, coping with medical issues, caring responsibilities and sometimes grief. We want to get together to discuss how to still be able to life a full and satisfying life whatever your age.”
Bernadette Gledhill: “This is such a warm, supportive, and inclusive day where women come together to talk about how they can help each other with the challenges that face many women in their midlife years. We know it will be incredibly uplifting.”
Rachel Peru: “Forty-five plus years is a time when many women are facing challenges through different life experiences, such as caring for elderly relatives, facing grief, health challenges or overwhelming changes in work and life patterns. We want to give tips on how to get the best out of these years.”
Christine Talbot: “It’s like a group of great girlfriends all sharing thoughts and ideas while getting invaluable advice from our experts. Each of our speakers have amazing stories to tell. Last year’s day was so positive and magical and we aim to capture that feeling again with our event coming up in October.”
The team are also delighted to have Harrogate based company Legacy Jewellery, who make bespoke items of jewellery from preloved and inherited pieces, on board as sponsors alongside the Yorkshire based motor company SG Petch, which represents some of the world’s leading car manufacturers at its seven Northern outlets.
Melanie Malcolm, Founder of Yorkshire Ladies Links, shared, "As a busy business owner and mother of two, who has also found confidence in changing career paths, I'm excited to attend the event. I look forward to hearing everyone's stories. The day will provide a special opportunity for us to pause, reflect, and listen to the remarkable women involved."
