Meet Our Member: Steph Best, Founder of Definitive Style
We’re delighted to introduce Steph Best, who recently joined Yorkshire Ladies Links after launching Definitive Style, an online ladies fashion boutique she has set up with her daughter, Lucy.
For Steph, fashion has always been a big part of her life. With many years of experience working in retail for well-known brands including Warehouse, Mint Velvet, Whistles and Daniel Footwear, the idea of creating something of her own had always been there in the background.
Now, she has brought that experience together with her daughter Lucy’s fresh ideas and marketing knowledge to create Definitive Style.
A Mum and Daughter Business:
Lucy is currently studying Marketing at Newcastle University, and the pair decided to combine their different skills and interests to build a business together.
Steph brings years of retail experience, a genuine love of fashion and an understanding of what women want from their wardrobes, while Lucy brings a fresh perspective and her growing knowledge of marketing.
Together, they are learning along the way and enjoying watching their little idea grow into something of their own.
Classic, Timeless Style:
The name Definitive Style really reflects what Steph and Lucy are all about. While Steph loves fashion, she has always been much more drawn to classic, timeless style rather than constantly chasing trends.
Definitive Style focuses on wearable wardrobe staples that women can reach for time and time again. Pieces that can be dressed up or down, styled in different ways and become much loved favourites in any wardrobe.
Their aim is to create somewhere women can find lovely, easy to wear pieces that make getting dressed feel simple, while still feeling stylish.
It’s fashion that works for real life and pieces that you can keep coming back to.
Building Something Together: For Steph and Lucy, Definitive Style is about more than simply selling clothes. It’s about building something together as mum and daughter, learning along the way and enjoying the journey.
Since joining Yorkshire Ladies Links, Steph has already started getting involved in our events, including our recent Yorkshire Ladies Links Padel event, where she had the opportunity to meet and connect with other members.
We look forward to seeing Steph at more of our events soon and watching her and Lucy continue to grow Definitive Style.
