Resolute Women’s Support Services is a UK-based charity dedicated to empowering women and children affected by domestic abuse and violence. The organisation was founded to address the systemic gaps survivors often face and now provides holistic, survivor-led support aimed at promoting safety, independence and long-term recovery.

The charity’s vision is to create a society where women and children live free from the threat or reality of domestic abuse. Its mission is to empower survivors to reach their full potential and live with dignity, strength and determination.

The Lotus Hub

The charity’s Lotus hub, located in Barnsley town centre (11a Regent Street South), serves as a safe, supportive space offering a range of services:

  • Emergency Support: One-to-one, needs-based support that ensures women receive immediate assistance.

  • Peer-to-peer workshops (twice weekly): Safe environments where survivors can share experiences and gain encouragement from others who have moved forward in their recovery. These workshops provide practical advice on safety planning, accessing services and navigating legal processes.

  • Volunteers with lived experience: Compassionate volunteers who offer meaningful, experience-based support.

  • Therapy rooms: Providing access to EMDR, NLP, counselling and holistic wellbeing treatments including massage, reflexology, Reiki and ear candling. These therapies are free for service users and available to the wider public for a small fee. Bookings can be made online via Products | Resolute Women’s Support Services.

The Lotus hub is also home to the newly launched Resolute Coffee Shop, offering hot and cold drinks, cakes and savoury snacks. All proceeds directly support the charity’s ongoing work.

Advocacy, Partnership & Campaigning

Resolute Women’s Support Services supports survivors as they navigate the criminal justice system, offering guidance and advocacy (without providing legal advice). They work closely with stalking advocates, police and counselling services to streamline support and reduce pressure on survivors.

The charity also leads awareness campaigns and advocates for policy change at local, national and international levels. Their current initiative — the Tag & App campaign — calls for the introduction of a system where perpetrators are fitted with a monitoring tag while victims use an app that alerts them if the perpetrator enters a restricted proximity. This aims to improve safety and provide evidence of breaches. Supporters can sign the petition at Petition · Tag & App - Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse - United Kingdom · Change.org.

Workplace Training

To support employers in recognising and responding to domestic abuse, the charity created Understanding Domestic Abuse, an online course primarily aimed at HR teams and mid-level managers. The training equips workplaces with the knowledge to identify signs of abuse, implement effective policies and respond empathetically. It features lived-experience stories from survivors the charity has supported.

The course is £30 per delegate, with discounts available for bulk bookings. Further details are available via the Training page: Training - Resolute Women’s Support Services.

Key Support Services

  • Immediate-access support line — ensuring no call or message goes unanswered.

  • Empathy-led advocacy — support delivered by individuals with lived experience of domestic abuse.

  • Facilitated survivor introductions — opportunities to connect with other survivors without the pressure of sharing in a group setting.

  • Guidance through justice processes — assistance in understanding criminal justice pathways.

  • Coordinated support — collaboration with external agencies to provide comprehensive care.

Every therapy booking, purchase or training enrolment helps sustain the charity’s essential services.

About the Founder: Deborah (Debbie) Jones

Deborah (Debbie) Jones is the founder and CEO of Resolute Women’s Support Services. After surviving a decade of domestic abuse and rebuilding her life with her two children in 2018, she recognised major gaps in the systems designed to support survivors. These realisations became the driving force behind her mission.

In 2021, Debbie founded Resolute Women’s Support Services to create a survivor-led organisation capable of delivering meaningful and effective support. Under her leadership, the organisation became a registered charity in 2023.

Debbie’s leadership is informed by lived experience, compassion and a commitment to systemic change. She is a strong advocate for trauma-informed care, gender-based violence awareness and community-centred solutions. Her work continues to shape the charity’s mission and the life-changing support it provides to women and their families.
