We are delighted to introduce one of our valued Yorkshire Ladies Links members, Fodder – The Great Yorkshire Food Hall.

Situated on the Great Yorkshire Showground, Fodder is an award-winning Farm Shop and Café with a story that is deeply rooted in Yorkshire, farming and the local community.
Established in 2009 to support the local farming community during the Foot and Mouth Crisis, Fodder has continued to grow and develop and is now proud to work with more than 400 Yorkshire suppliers, showcasing some of the very best food and drink our region has to offer.

A taste of the very best of Yorkshire
Fodder is much more than a farm shop. It brings together a fantastic shop, café and Fodder on the Hoof, a 1960s Airstream located in the Fodder car park.
The shop is packed with quality Yorkshire produce, from fresh local ingredients and delicious treats to Yorkshire made drinks and gifts. The café is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, while Fodder on the Hoof offers a seasonal selection of quality hot and cold food and drinks to take away.
In 2025, Fodder proudly evolved into Fodder – The Great Yorkshire Food Hall, unveiling a fresh new look while maintaining the strong connection to the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the charity at the heart of everything Fodder does.
What makes Fodder particularly special is that it is the only shop and café where 100% of profits go to charity.
Supporting Yorkshire agriculture and rural communities
Every visit to Fodder helps support an important cause.
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society spends approximately half a million pounds every year supporting and promoting agriculture and rural industries across Yorkshire and the North of England.
That support takes many different forms, from organising educational events for children and providing farmer health checks, to developing the skills of people working in agriculture and supporting the future of the rural community.
So, whether you are popping in for a coffee, enjoying lunch with friends or picking up some Yorkshire produce for home, you are helping to support the farming and rural communities that are so important to our region.
Sustainability at the heart of Fodder
Sustainability is also incredibly important to Fodder, with the building incorporating 22 sustainable features.
From loo doors made using recycled bottles to the living sedum roof, which provides fantastic insulation as well as creating a wonderful habitat for insects, sustainability has been considered throughout the building.
The sedum roof also helps to filter rainwater so it can be recycled, demonstrating how thoughtful design can have a positive impact on the environment while creating a welcoming and inspiring space.
Events, shopping and more
Fodder is open 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm, and throughout the year hosts a variety of events, making it a great destination for both locals and visitors.
From late-night shopping and tasting events to the much loved annual Christmas extravaganza, there is always something happening at Fodder.
And this October, Yorkshire Ladies Links members and guests have an extra special reason to visit.
Yorkshire Cheese and Wine Evening with Yorkshire Ladies Links
We are delighted to be hosting a very special Yorkshire Cheese and Wine Evening together with Yorkshire Ladies Links on Thursday 22nd October.
This promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating two things Yorkshire does exceptionally well: fantastic food and great hospitality.
The event is open to both Yorkshire Ladies Links members and non-members and, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Fodder, it is a completely complimentary event.
Guests will be welcomed with an arrival drink before enjoying a special masterclass in cheese and wine pairing, giving you the opportunity to discover more about combining different Yorkshire cheeses with the perfect wine.
Following the masterclass, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a private late night shopping experience at Fodder, giving you the chance to browse the fantastic range of Yorkshire food, drink and gifts at your leisure.
It is a great opportunity to discover more about Fodder, meet other Yorkshire Ladies Links members and guests, enjoy an evening together and, of course, indulge in some delicious Yorkshire cheese and wine.
Places are strictly limited to just 60 people, so if you would like to join us, we recommend securing your place as soon as possible.
We are incredibly grateful to Fodder for sponsoring this special evening and look forward to welcoming everyone for what promises to be a fantastic night.
