Yorkshire Ladies Links and The Padel Network Bring 40 Women Together for a Fantastic Padel Event

What happens when two founders, both passionate about bringing women together, put their communities behind one event? A brilliant day of padel, new connections, plenty of laughter and more than 40 women getting involved.

Yorkshire Ladies Links Founder, Melanie Malcolm, and The Padel Network Founder, Jodie Harris, worked closely together to make the collaboration a success, combining their communities, experience and marketing to create an event that attracted more than 40 women to Optimum Padel in Leeds.

The event brought together the Yorkshire Ladies Links and The Padel Network communities for a fun, relaxed and very different way to connect, with many of the women trying padel for the very first time.

Bringing Two Communities Together

The event was a fantastic example of what can happen when two like minded communities come together.

Jodie Harris is the Founder of The Padel Network and an active Yorkshire Ladies Links member through her own business, Luxury Travel by Jodie. The collaboration was a natural fit, with both Jodie and Melanie passionate about creating opportunities for women to meet, connect and try something different.

As a member benefit for The Padel Network, Yorkshire Ladies Links provided extensive marketing and promotion of the event across our community at no additional cost. This generated more than 40 bookings and demonstrated the value of combining the reach of two engaged communities.

Melanie and Jodie worked closely together in the lead up to the event to ensure everything was promoted effectively and that the experience delivered exactly what they had hoped for.

For Yorkshire Ladies Links, collaborations like this are about much more than simply promoting an event. They are about creating opportunities for women to meet, try something new, make genuine connections and discover businesses and communities they may not otherwise have come across.

And the response showed just how much interest there is in doing something a little different.

Trying Something New

The event was designed to be welcoming to everyone, whatever their experience.

For those completely new to padel, The Padel Network provided an ‘Intro to Padel’ session with a professional coach, allowing beginners to learn the basics, understand the rules and have a go on court in a relaxed and supportive environment.

For those who had played before, there was plenty of opportunity to get involved, rally and enjoy some time on court.

Equipment was provided, so there was no need for anyone to have played before or own their own equipment. It really was about coming along, having a go and enjoying something a little different.

And that is exactly what happened.

The atmosphere throughout the event was fantastic, with women encouraging each other on court, meeting new people and enjoying the experience together.

The Padel Network

Jodie Harris founded The Padel Network to bring women together through padel, creating opportunities to play, meet new people and enjoy the sport in a welcoming environment.

Jodie is also an active Yorkshire Ladies Links member through her travel business, Luxury Travel by Jodie, making this collaboration a natural fit between two communities that share a passion for bringing women together.

It was brilliant to bring The Padel Network and Yorkshire Ladies Links communities together for such a fantastic event. Mel brought an amazing group of 40 women along, and the energy on the day was brilliant. It was exactly what both of our communities are about — bringing women together, creating new connections and having fun while doing something a little different. It was fantastic to see so many women trying padel, networking and genuinely enjoying themselves, and I’d absolutely love to collaborate with YLL again.

More Than Just Padel

What made the event particularly enjoyable was that the padel was only part of the experience. After the session, everyone had the opportunity to stay for informal networking, a delicious brunch and drinks, giving the group time to chat, get to know each other and continue the conversations that had started on court.

There was a real sense of people being there simply to enjoy themselves, meet new people and be part of something different. We love creating events that give our members opportunities to connect in a natural and relaxed way, and this event was a perfect example.

A Huge Success

With more than 40 women attending, a fantastic atmosphere and so many people stepping onto a padel court for the first time, the collaboration with The Padel Network was a huge success.

A big thank you to Jodie and The Padel Network for creating such a welcoming experience and for working so closely with us to make the event happen.

We’re always looking for new ways to bring our communities together, and this event proved the power of two founders with a shared passion for bringing women together, supporting one another and creating experiences people genuinely want to be part of.
