We are so proud to introduce Becky and Shelley Joyce, the incredible twin sisters behind Homeless Street Angels. Their journey began eight years ago with a simple idea — to offer kindness and a hot meal to those sleeping rough in Leeds. Every Thursday night, they would go out with food, clothing, and open hearts. What they did not realise at the time was just how many lives they were about to change, including their own.

As more volunteers joined and the team grew, they began to see the deeper needs of the people they were helping. Becky and Shelley quickly understood that while food and clothes were essential, people needed so much more. They needed a fresh start, a place to call home, and the kind of support that could help them move forward with hope. So they began working closely with local services to help people move off the streets and into homes.

They also turned to social media, reaching out to their community for help furnishing those new homes. They asked for donations of furniture and household items and were met with an outpouring of love and generosity. With every appeal, supporters stepped forward and together they turned empty properties into warm and welcoming spaces where people could begin to rebuild.

When the pandemic hit, Becky and Shelley saw even more families struggling. They started a foodbank, hoping to make a small difference. That effort has now grown to support over 850 families and continues to be a lifeline for so many.

Homeless Street Angels does not receive government funding. Everything they have built has come from love, dedication, and the belief that everyone deserves compassion and a second chance.

One of their proudest achievements is the creation of their support centre, Abi House, named in memory of their younger sister who passed away at the very beginning of this journey. Abi’s memory lives on in every act of kindness the charity offers. Abi House is now open and thriving. It provides housing support, food parcels, fuel vouchers, dentist appointments, and a wide range of life skills classes.

These classes have become a highlight for many and include art, acting, creative writing, cooking, and exercise. Each one is designed to help people build confidence, develop new skills, and reconnect with others in a supportive environment.

Over the years, Becky and Shelley have gone above and beyond to raise awareness and funds for the charity. They have swum with sharks, jumped from planes, walked through fire, taken on the world’s longest zipline, and even released a Christmas single. Every challenge has been a way to show their commitment and raise the support needed to keep helping others.

Homeless Street Angels is more than a charity. It is a family built on kindness, strength, and unwavering love for the community. Becky and Shelley have created a space where people are seen, heard, and given the chance to start again.

We are honoured to welcome Homeless Street Angels to our network and look forward to seeing how their amazing work continues to grow.
