This afternoon, Founder Melanie Malcolm, along with Co-Hosts Christa Ackroyd and Christine Talbot, had a fantastic catch-up, putting the finishing touches on the Yorkshire Voices speaker sessions.

With just over a month to go until our highly anticipated comeback conference, we’re thrilled to unveil two inspiring speaker sessions hosted by Christa Ackroyd and Christine Talbot—two of Yorkshire’s most respected TV presenters and journalists.
With decades of experience in journalism and broadcasting, Christa and Christine bring unmatched insight, storytelling skills, and professionalism to this unmissable event.
An Audience with Lindsey Burrow: A Heartfelt Conversation Hosted by Christa Ackroyd

One of the conference highlights is An Audience with Lindsey Burrow, hosted by legendary broadcaster Christa Ackroyd. Christa will lead an intimate and deeply moving conversation with Lindsey Burrow, exploring her new book Take Care, which recounts her journey of resilience, love, and caregiving for her late husband, rugby league icon Rob Burrow, during his journey with motor neurone disease (MND).
This session also marks the first major book signing of Take Care. Known for her empathetic approach and skill in handling sensitive topics, Christa will bring Lindsey’s story to life, showcasing the courage and love at the heart of her experience.
Christa’s career spans over 40 years, she has seen her become one of the most recognised faces in Yorkshire, notably as the first woman to run an independent radio station and the long-time anchor for BBC Look North and ITV Calendar.
Throughout her career, Christa has interviewed figures such as Henry Kissinger, multiple British prime ministers, US presidents, and members of the royal family. Yet, her true passion lies in telling the stories of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, a trait that will shine through in her conversation with Lindsey Burrow. Christa’s more recent television work, including Our Great Yorkshire Life and Serial Killer's Wives for Channel 5, continues to show her range and dedication to storytelling.
Yorkshire Voices: Extraordinary Women Making a Difference Through Adversity and Advocacy, Hosted by Christine Talbot

The conference will also feature the highly anticipated Yorkshire Voices panel, hosted by another of Yorkshire’s finest, Christine Talbot. With an illustrious career spanning nearly three decades, Christine has been a familiar and trusted presence in homes across the region as the face of ITV Calendar.
Her warmth, authority, and engaging storytelling have earned her numerous awards, and her ability to connect with both viewers and interviewees alike ensures that the Yorkshire Voices panel will be a memorable and moving event.
Christine will lead a panel of remarkable women, each of whom has made a significant impact through adversity and advocacy. These inspiring speakers include Lindsey Burrow, Lizzie Jones MBE, Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung (the Lord Mayor of Leeds), Joan Lawrence, and Claire Throssell MBE. Each speaker will share their personal journey, offering insight into the challenges faced by women today and celebrating the strength and resilience that helps them overcome those challenges.
Christine’s illustrious career includes presenting the much-loved magazine show Tonight and pioneering one of the first health and lifestyle digital channels, Wellbeing. Beyond television, she regularly shares her insights as a columnist for Yorkshire Life magazine. Christine is also deeply committed to supporting the region, hosting events and serving as a patron for numerous Yorkshire charities. Her dedication on and off screen has cemented her role as a trusted and influential figure in the community.
