Hello, my name is Melanie Malcolm, and it was a true honour to organise, host and deliver one of the most inspirational days of my life.

Last Friday, we welcomed hundreds of incredible guests to our Hellomynameis Charity Lunch and Business Showcase, and what a day to remember it truly was.

We’re still overwhelmed by the wonderful messages that have poured in after such an inspiring and deeply emotional event. From the moment our exhibitors and attendees arrived, the room was alive with energy, conversation and meaningful connection.

Over lunch, we began with our charity appeal for Leeds Hospitals Charity, followed by a heartfelt talk from Chris Pointon, who shared the legacy of his late wife Dr Kate Granger and the simple, powerful message that changed the world – Hello, my name is.

Then came our surprise speakers, each one brave, honest and truly unforgettable:

Hello my name is Charlotte Newman

Hello my name is Skye McCann

Hello my name is Dene Josham

Hello my name is Tye Magaya

Hello my name is Emma Rogers

Hello my name is Ali Mortimer

Hello my name is Becky Joyce

Hello my name is Shelley Joyce

Hello my name is Vicki Gilbert

Each voice held the room in complete stillness as their stories unfolded with strength, heartbreak and courage. We were reminded that no matter what life brings, there is always a way to rise again, to rebuild, and to keep moving forward with hope.

As the afternoon drew to a close, radio and TV presenter Stephanie Hirst thanked everyone and made an exciting announcement:

"Hello my name is Stephanie Hirst. You won’t hear my story today, I want you all to book the Reset & Rise Conference next year, where I’ll be sharing my story, Believe Achieve."

It was more than an event. It was a reminder that behind every story, every journey and every act of courage, there is a person reaching out, saying: Hello, my name is.

Three simple words that continue to change how we see each other, how we listen, and how we care, because every connection begins with Hello, my name is.

As I reflect on the day, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it possible, to our wonderful guests for filling the room with warmth and support, and to our exhibitors for creating such an inspiring atmosphere of collaboration, connection and shared purpose.

Thank you to our inspiring speakers for sharing their stories so openly, and to our amazing hosts, Christa Ackroyd and Jonathan Heath, for guiding us through such an emotional and uplifting afternoon.

My sincere thanks also go to our venue and event partners for helping us create such a beautiful experience, and to our generous sponsors whose support brought our vision to life: Ideas, Balloons 2 U, Bespoke Home Cinemas, Limelight HR, Ali Mortimer – The Joy Coach, Pluto Play Productions, Classic Lodges, and J&A International Group.

It truly was a team effort, and together we created something very special that will stay with us for a long time.

With heartfelt thanks, Melanie Malcolm
