Join us for an unforgettable day of connection, inspiration, and community at the inaugural Hellomynameis Charity Lunch and Business Showcase, proudly supporting Leeds Hospitals Charity. This is a day of recognition and celebration.
We invite YOU to share your journey, whether you’ve made an impact in your community, built a remarkable career against the odds, or want to nominate a young person who deserves to be in the spotlight. With only 10 speaker slots available, each story will be shared in under five minutes, offering a powerful opportunity to inspire and be inspired by others in the room.
We’re starting and ending the day with a vibrant business showcase, where exhibitors will have the chance to promote their work, products, and services, creating an exciting environment for connection and collaboration. Exhibitors can sell, network, and connect, making this event a unique blend of celebration, business, and community.
To mark the celebration of our inaugural event, we are deeply honoured to have Chris Pointon as Keynote Speaker to launch the event.
Chris is the widower of Dr Kate Granger MBE, a remarkable doctor and patient, who co-founded the global #hellomynameis campaign. Kate, a passionate advocate for compassionate care in healthcare, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2011 at the age of 29. Over the course of her illness, she became not only a patient but a voice for improving patient care. In 2013, alongside her husband Chris, Kate launched the #hellomynameis campaign, which aimed to humanise healthcare by encouraging healthcare professionals to introduce themselves to patients.
Kate passed away in 2016 at the age of 34, but her legacy lives on through the campaign, which has now raised over £540,000 for Leeds Hospitals Charity and St Gemma’s Hospice. Chris continues to promote the #hellomynameis campaign, speaking at global conferences and events to further champion compassion in healthcare.

We have 10 exclusive spots for individuals to share their story. Whether you’ve achieved something remarkable or want to honour someone who has, this is your chance to be celebrated and make a lasting impact.
You don’t need to be a polished speaker — just someone with something meaningful to say.
Ladies and gentlemen, this event is open to everyone, and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your friends, family, and colleagues to celebrate your achievements together in a vibrant, supportive community! Your story will be your legacy, so make it count.
During the lunch, you’ll have 5 minutes to share your story, starting with "Hello, my name is…" so we can give everyone their moment in the spotlight. Whether you’re nominating someone to speak or stepping up yourself, we can’t wait to hear your incredible stories.
Our 10 speakers will be selected by a panel of Yorkshire Ladies Links contributors. If you’re not selected this time, don’t worry — this event won’t be the last, and we’ll be offering many opportunities to speak at other events in the near future.

We are excited to welcome Christa Ackroyd, the familiar face and regular host of Yorkshire Ladies Links, to lead us through the day. Christa is a respected TV presenter and journalist with decades of experience in broadcasting. She will guide our guest speakers through their conversations, ask insightful questions, and help create a lively atmosphere throughout the event.
Over her distinguished career, Christa has interviewed a variety of prominent figures, including Henry Kissinger, multiple British prime ministers, US presidents, and members of the royal family. However, her true passion lies in telling the stories of ordinary individuals in extraordinary circumstances. This genuine passion will shine through as she engages with our speakers, making the day even more special.
The event is being held in support of Leeds Hospitals Charity, which has been by the side of Leeds Teaching Hospitals for nearly a decade.
Each year, more than a million people come through their doors — many of them facing some of the hardest moments of their lives. This charity exists to make those moments a little easier.
From providing free wigs for cancer patients and comfort packs for grieving families, to offering support trolleys for parents on children’s wards and emergency grants for people struggling through illness, their work brings both practical help and emotional comfort. Leeds Hospitals Charity is also helping fund a 7-day play service at Leeds Children’s Hospital in 2025, providing crucial support to children and families in hospital.
They have also contributed to the creation of the Rob Burrow Centre for MND, a £6.8 million project for Motor Neurone Disease patients and their families at Seacroft Hospital. The Burrow family has been instrumental in raising awareness and funding for this important initiative.
Leeds Hospitals Charity makes a real difference by funding equipment, treatments, research, and simple comforts, ensuring hospitals provide the best possible care for all. Supporting this event means supporting their incredible work.
Business Showcase
Celebrate alongside some of Yorkshire’s most inspiring individuals and organisations. Exhibitors can sell, connect, and promote throughout the day. Charities and businesses are welcome — spaces are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
