- 2 min read
We are pleased to welcome IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) to the Yorkshire Voices Reset & Rise Conference on Friday, 27th February, at the Pavilions of Harrogate.
During the conference, IDAS will be delivering short, informative sessions so that you can find out more about their charity and how you can support people impacted by domestic abuse across Yorkshire.

Domestic Abuse Myths – 10 am
Did you know that as many as 1 in 3 women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime?
Domestic abuse can happen to any woman regardless of where they live, their profession, or their social, economic or ethnic background.
Join our informative session, and learn how to spot the signs of domestic abuse and respond effectively.
· Challenge stereotypes that prevent people getting support
· Understand how people become trapped in abusive relationships
· Spot the warning signs
· Respond safely and with compassion
Partnering with our Charity – 11.30 am
Corporate support is a vital source of income for our charity, helping us to plan our work and provide essential services that are not covered through our mainstream funding.
Partnering with IDAS sends a clear message to your clients and business community that you support anyone experiencing or affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence across Yorkshire.
Join this session to find out more about how you can get involved.
· Find out more about our charity of the year and cause-related marketing initiatives
· Raise awareness of domestic abuse and champion the work that we do
· Take on a physical challenge to raise vital funds
· Other ways to support victims and survivors
Safe Havens – IDAS’ Hosted Accommodation Scheme – 2.30 pm
Our Safe Havens scheme provides temporary hosted accommodation – anything from a night or two, to up to two months – to people who are fleeing domestic abuse.
If you have a spare room and our values resonate with you, join this short session to find out more about becoming a Safe Havens host.
We know that when someone is living in an abusive household, the focus is on staying safe and it is not always easy to make decisions around whether to leave the relationship. Safe accommodation with a host family can give someone the time and space to consider their options.
Becoming a Safe Havens host can be incredibly rewarding, and we provide training and support every step of the way.
· How does Safe Havens work
· Application process
· Training requirements
· What happens once you become a host
Each session will be just 15 minutes, including time to ask questions. Places are limited to just six per session. Please contact fundraising@idas.org.uk to secure your place.
Please note that to attend these sessions, you will need to book a free General Admission ticket for the Yorkshire Voices Reset & Rise Conference 2026.
