I wanted to share a personal update with you all ahead of our charity lunch this Thursday, 26th March, at The Priory Cottages and Wedding Venue

We are very sorry to share that our special guest speaker, Rachel Peru⁩, is no longer able to join us on Thursday. Rachel has very sadly lost her father, and my heart and all of ours at Yorkshire Ladies Links goes out to her and her family during this incredibly difficult time. We know many of you were looking forward to hearing Rachel speak, but right now what matters most is that she is surrounded by love and support.

I’m sure you will all join me in sending Rachel our heartfelt condolences, love and strength. We will, of course, be welcoming Rachel back to join us at a future event when she feels ready, and I know that will be a very special moment.

In the meantime, I’m very grateful that a wonderful guest who was already attending has kindly agreed to join our speaker line-up. I’m pleased to introduce Diane Watson.

Diane Watson is an award winning distinguished financial advisor, entrepreneur and passionate founder of ’She Can Prosper ‘ .

She retired from her advisory business at the end of 2025, but still has an unshakeable belief in empowering women to achieve financial independence. Diane has dedicated her career to guiding individuals towards a secure and prosperous future.

With almost three decades of experience, she is widely respected for her work in wealth management and financial planning, including investment strategies, retirement planning, income protection and estate planning.

She also founded ‘She Can Prosper’, which supports women to take control of their finances through workshops, mentorship programmes, and accessible resources. Her book She Can Prosper (published on 16th November 2023) became an Amazon Best Seller, and her work continues to support women in building financial confidence and independence.

I’m truly thankful to Diane for joining us, and I know she will bring something really valuable to the day alongside our wonderful speakers Christine Talbot and Lizzie Jones MBE, as we come together to support the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund charity.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support. Most importantly, please keep Rachel and her family in your thoughts at this very sad time.

With love,

Melanie Malcolm
